Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION . The primary purpose of the RECORDS & INFO MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT), GS-0308-9/11, is to implement and administer the Knowledge Management Program within the Wing tenants and Geographically Separated Units (GSUs), if assigned, network and manual operating environments. This includes the management, organization, direction, control, and customer education of all actions associated with the collection, creation, use, and dissemination of official information, and related records to include Wing, tenants and GSUs if assigned.

RECORDS & INFO MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT), GS-0308-09 (Trainee): Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS 07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Implements policy and guidance governing the implementation of knowledge management initiatives. Manage reports, matrices, and requests for information, as well as collaborative planning tools to ensure timely delivery of decision-quality information to organizational stakeholders. Aid the organization with meeting statutory records management requirements, to include training, policies, and technologies used to identify, organize, protect, share, archive, and dispose of official government records through the use of automated management systems, instructions, and general guidance from higher headquarters. Utilizing various information systems, maintains user access controls, electronic records structure, permissions, storage, password controls and procedures using applicable security policies and regulations. RECORDS & INFO MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT), GS-0308-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. TRAINEE POSITION: Applicants not meeting full qualifications for the GS 11 position indicated above may be considered for GS 09 trainee, if qualified. Statement-of-Difference of qualification requirements for each are indicated. If appointed as trainee, the selectee may be non-competitively promoted to GS 11 upon meeting full qualifications and recommendations of supervisor. Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
GS-09:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
