About the position: This position will be assigned to the McGuire Community Center.
Duties
Monitors activities with the Community Center. Observes patrons to ensure proper utilization of equipment. Fosters good relationship with patrons. Conducts hourly attendance counts of facility. Maintains order and enforces policies, procedures, and safety rules. Reports problems to supervisor. Issues and collects recreational equipment/supplies. Performs end of shift equipment inventories. Ensures all equipment is functional and in working condition, both upon issuing and return. Ensures all hand receipts are properly filled out. Sets up areas for various events and cleans up and returns to original configuration when event is completed. Receives and directs telephone calls or visitors. Based on general knowledge of the organizations, refers telephone callers and visitors to appropriate staff or office. Personally answers routines, non-technical request for information such as status of reports, suspense dates, and similar readily available information. Takes and delivers messages for staff members who are unavailable. Performs routine, miscellaneous clerical work. Reproduces and assembles copies of a variety of correspondence. Uses office copy machines. Utilizes fax machines. Monitors stock levels of a variety of office supplies. Orders common supplies, as necessary, and specific supplies requested by staff. May process incoming mail distributing to appropriate individuals. Establishes suspense dates as directed by the supervisor and brings to supervisor's attention those that require prompt attention, and those that cannot be met by requested dates.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Practical knowledge of Community Center activities, rules, and procedures. Skills in, or able to rapidly learn, the use and operational maintenance of center equipment. Working knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures to distribute mail, answer telephones, and maintain office forms. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing using tact and courtesy. Must hve basic computer skills to include Word and Excel.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
