About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Tripler Army Medical Center, Directorate of Resource Management, Logistical Housekeeping, Honolulu Hawaii.

Duties
Serves as an advisor to top management personnel on matters pertaining to hospital housekeeping, environmental conditions, and sanitation requirements.
Responsible for carrying out the installation and administration of a multi-million-dollar hospital housekeeping contract.
Provides analytical support (i.e., data reports, suggestions) to the branch and other management elements to use for changing/altering support practices/processes.
Plans, coordinates and ensures all recycling programs formulated for the main treatment facility are functioning.
Coordinates with directorate, department and service chiefs in order to provide maximum environmental services with the least disruption to patient care and administrative operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) through the American Hospital Association and a member of the American Society of Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) within 18 months.
- Must be a Certified Linen and Laundry Manager (CLLM) through the Association of Laundry Managers (ALM) within 6 months.
- Must be able to be appointed in writing as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for Logistics Division within 6 months.
- Must be certified as a Certified/Registered Executive Housekeeper (CEH/REH) through the International Executive Housekeeping Association (IEHA) within 12 months.
- Pre-employment Physical.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies/employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.
- Position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in daily operation of a medical waste management program; Develop procedures to achieve environmental conditions meeting certification standards; Analyze the healthcare housekeeping and environmental services programs for the region; and identify potential and existing violations of Federal, State, and local requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
