The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Equipment Facilities and Services (EFS) Assistant performing as Stock Record Account Number (SRAN) Engine Manager for the 4620 jet engine account.

Duties

Functions as the Stock Record Account Number (SRAN) Engine Manager. Functions as the Engine Tracking Maintenance Information System (MIS) Database Monitor. Develops plans and controls in regards to maintenance and repair of applicable engines. Serves as Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO)/Life Limit Monitor.

  • Incumbent is on 24-hour call to negotiate shipment or receipt of engines as required for aircraft in Engine Not Mission Capable for Supply (ENMCS) or other emergency conditions.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Equipment Facilities and Services Series, 1603. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of all applicable technical orders, Air Force Instructions (AFIs), policies, and local policies and procedures to monitor aircraft engine status; maintain spare engine inventory levels; prepare required documents for and track engine shipments; and perform other administrative tasks-related to engine management in support of installation's flying mission. Knowledge of aircraft engine nomenclature to conduct and oversee engine and component inventory, verify and input engine maintenance actions, and maintain records. Knowledge of operation of applicable databases to enter and update data, ensure completeness and currency of records, run reports, and identify and resolve data errors. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of propulsion nomenclatures and operating parameters. Knowledge of applicable MIS(s) engine reporting procedures in propulsion maintenance sufficient to perform the proper procedures for processing engine management data. Knowledge and skill of applicable engine management governing regulations, procedures and instructions to assure continuing availability of engines and equipment. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of word processing software sufficient to perform data entry, tracking, inventory, and complete/create reports, forms, documents and spreadsheets. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine maintenance, technical manuals, and directives to determine work requirements. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
