The position is located in the Washington Headquarters Service, Facilities Operations & Services Division, Facility Service Group, Alterations Work Group. The purpose of this position is to serve as a technical specialist performing research support, project engineering/program management support, development, and evaluation or engineering/life cycle support of a complex nature.

Duties

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Conducts Surveys reviews all engineering drawings, plans, specifications, standards, regulations and other applicable references. Develops a detailed scope of work that specifically addresses the work requested. Develops statements of work, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for work to be accomplished by service contracts. Performs final and in-progress inspections of contract work to assure that workmanship and materials are satisfactory; customer requirements, specifications and special requirements such as accomplishment of safety regulations are met; and in contract situations, work is performed in accordance with contractual agreement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
