You will serve as a FACILITY SERVICES ASSISTANT in the NAVFAC MIDLANT FACILITIES MANAGEMENT & SUSTAINMENT PRODUCT LINE of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will use advanced functions within software products, create spreadsheets and use word processing and database tools. You will input accurate job order numbers, work centers, labor/craft codes, failure classes and problem codes. You will dispatch calls for service and emergency response teams and input time into the labor entry application. You will utilize filling systems and find information by researching files, reports, manuals, guides and policies. You will perform clerical duties such as making travel arrangements, inputting time and attendance and tracking training completions. You will make and receive daily calls from employees to review their labor charges and obtain updates on job status changes. You will review work orders to be assigned, work queues and required skillsets in order to assign work orders.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • May be designated as Essential personnel and required to report for duty or held in duty status to provide support before, during or after emergency situations (weather, disasters or increased security threat).
  • May be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within commuting area.
  • This position may or may not require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assigning work orders to the appropriate trade and work center; 2) Managing, tracking and adjusting work order data using software systems; 3) Communicating daily with trades workers to review the status of work orders in order to update spreadsheets and schedules; 4) Dispatching call for service and emergency response teams.
