About the Position: This position tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts electronic assemblies, subassemblies, components, devices, and equipment used in various electronic systems of guided missiles and ground equipment.
Duties
Test, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust electronic assemblies, subassemblies, components and related devices and equipment used in guided missiles, and ground and other associated equipment.
Perform inspections and operational checkout of electronic items according to procedures.
Connect electronic chassis and assemblies to special test equipment by patch boards, cables, and adapters.
Conduct tests and diagnose malfunctions, isolate problems, and determine nature and scope of repairs by making voltage, frequency, and radio frequency calculations.
Analyze waveforms and trace circuits and relationships in the signal flow through the use of schematics, test layouts, blueprints, drawings, and specific test equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position is a Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment. This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations you are required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. ???????Must possess the ability to perform common tasks including repairing, aligning, and troubleshooting electronic sensing and control systems, operating common hand tools, and soldering iron, diagnosing nature and extent of equipment malfunction, and replacing defective components, wiring, and adjusting mechanical parts to troubleshoot and conduct repairs.

Physical Efforts:
Frequently lifts and carry, unassisted, items weighing up to 50 pounds. Sometimes required to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping and stand for extended periods of time on concrete or composition floors. Climbing and working in high places may be required.
Work Conditions:
Typically work in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas in a shop environment. Work is sometimes in high and restricted places, under conditions of heat and cold and outside in inclement weather. Exposed to the possibility of electric shock; burns from electrical or radio frequency energy or hot solder; and cuts and bruises.
