The Phoenix VA Health Care System is recruiting for one (1) Prosthetics Clerk (Office Automation), in the Prosthetics & Sensory Aid Service. This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Prosthetics Service, to ensure Veterans receive the appropriate medical equipment. The position specializes in data entry, and administrative tasks.

Duties

The Prosthetics Clerk (Office Automation) performs clerical, and data entry duties for the Prosthetics & Sensory Aids service. The Prosthetics Clerk documents an order from the beginning until the Veterans receives they prescribed order. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Utilizes office automation equipment such as electric typewriter, computer, word processor, facsimile machines, and copiers to communicate with others. Collaborates with co-workers, internal and external customers. Ensures that requests, orders, or correspondence reaches the appropriate Point of Contact. Reviews, researches data to ensure the validity of the information. Resolves issues or concerns from internal and external customers. Utilizes computer principle and programs i.e. (Microsoft applications, VISTA, CPRS) to execute duties. Utilize computer principles and programs to execute duties. Utilizes computer systems to create reports, presentation, and emails. Performs accurate data entry. Executes meeting the needs of customers while supporting the overall mission of the organization. Receives written and oral instructions, and can apply those instructions to daily work. Works independently under general supervision and address unique situations that may arise and/or formulate specialized work assignments. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/20/2023. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performing daily administrative duties of the department, assists with inquiries or concerns, and utilizes computer programs to accomplish duties. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 full years above high school education. This education is directly related to the position to be filled. (Transcripts are required.) OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and two years of education beyond high school. (Transcripts required.) *Please make sure that your experience is evident in your resume. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: Moderate walking is involved in collecting documentation/data needed to be recorded. Also, P&SAS storage room is located nearby in the same building so it would require some walking throughout the day. Some lifting and stretching in obtaining stock items, files, document, printer paper, office supplies. The greatest portion of this position is repetitive typing on a computer keyboard, and glare from the computer monitor. Incumbent when needed may be required to change ink cartridges in his/her printer, adding paper to the copier machine. Incumbent may be required to lift packages weighing up to 25 pounds and not to exceed 50 without assistance.
