This position is located at Automotive Skill Center, Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, Building 159, Bailey Road. Duties

Completes repairs and installations with little or no technical advice. Work is performed independently based on personal judgments and decisions within framework of oral and written instructions and accepted trade practices. Determines type and extent of repairs needed. Completes repairs and adjustments in accordance with manufacturers' specifications and service bulletins and ensures vehicle systems function in accordance with safety regulations. Work involves troubleshooting, repairing, and/or overhauling mayor components and systems such as engines, transmissions, differentials and transaxles, electronic fuel injection system and computerized engine analyzer. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Applicant must be able to frequently lift and carry very heavy objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
• An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
• Must hold a current valid driver's license.
• Must be willing and able to work irregular hours to include Federal holidays, weekends, and evenings.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements: Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties described above that include the skills and knowledge listed. HIGHLY PREFERRED Are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and: Posses a valid Automotive Technician License Knowledge of the makeup, operation and installation of complex major automobile systems and assemblies to troubleshoot and repair systems such as: gasoline and diesel engines; automatic and manual transmissions.
