About the position: This position will be assigned to the Oasis Bar and Grill/ The Attic at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico May be required to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled. Physical Requirements: Ability to continuously stand, bend, stoop and reach for long periods of time. Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds.

Duties

Regular & Recurring Duties & Responsibilities: Distributes and balances workload among employees. Observes work in progress, production, adherence to quality and safety standards. Instructs and trains new employees. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and customer problems. Elevates unresolved employee complaints or operational issues to supervisor. Provides input to supervisor on performance, awards, progress, and disciplinary problems. Performs full range of cash accountability to include responsibility for issue, receipt, and control of cash boxes. Prepares reports/paperwork as required. Orders, verifies, and stores food/supply items; informs management when a shortage occurs. Opens and closes the facility in accordance with established policies and regulations. Ensures that all items are stocked prior to opening the facility and properly stored upon closing. Prepares orders; assists with inventories, identifies items for re-ordering; collects money, rings sales on cash register and makes change. Works along with employees and sets the work pace. Collects/transfers trash from work area. May be required to fill in behind the bar as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and one every three years thereafter.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be of legal age to serve alcohol.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in food handling and preparation, in order to lead employees performing food service, food preparation and cashier duties. Experience in a fast food restaurant or similar food service operation. Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
