Duties

You will schedule and oversea maintenance and material management, planned maintenance systems, on all underwater breathing systems and associated equipment. You will coordinate training for or train and qualify personnel in troubleshooting, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and test and calibrate diver life support systems. You will audit and approve the reentry control on certified systems. You will manage the efficient daily processing of equipment and consumables in support of training and maintenance. You will provide annual budget forecasts based on the analysis of previous maintenance trends and anticipated long-range training requirements. You will assist the 2nd phase deputy officer in charge achieving consistency in the planning, contracting, and execution of all maintenance policy and procedures and developing improvement recommendations.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Requires long periods of standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and occasional lifting weights up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain high risk training instructor qualification.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing management, procurement, administration, and execution of long range maintenance relative to the operation of Diver Life Support Systems (DLSS). Education

The following education may be substituted in lieu of the speciailzed experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
