About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)) in Falls Church, VA.
Duties
Provide advice and recommendations to Senior leadership for matters relative to the coordination, integration, and synchronization of staff actions, events, and activities personally affecting and/or involving any or all members of the team.
Develop read aheads, schedules pre-briefs, set-up conference room for meetings, project slides, and prepares meeting minutes.
Perform a wide variety of office management and administrative duties
Develop and maintain an automated tracking system to establish and monitor status of staff actions.
Coordinate and make travel arrangements in the Defense Travel System (DTS), to include: scheduling, itinerary details, reservations, preparation of travel vouchers and pre and post trip reports for the Senior Leadership Team.
Utilize modern office automation systems and Microsoft software in the performance of assigned duties.
Maintain a digital Facilities Enterprise Front Office Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of standardized day to day processes and actions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Basic Requirements for Executive Assistant GS-0301-09:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing active calendar of appointments, preparing reports and/or briefings, obtaining information for leadership to use in various meetings, and utilizing modern automation systems such as, word processing, PowerPoint, excel, electronic mail, and electronic calendaring systems to manage taskers effectively. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
