You will serve as a GEOTHERMAL PROGRAM OFFICE (GPO) DIVISION DIRECTOR in the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 through GS-15. This position has a control point equivalent to the GS-14 step 10 level.

Duties

You will provide program assessment and implementation in support of the Navy's geothermal program. You will lead, coordinate, and participate in the work of a multi-disciplined group of scientists and continually assess progress of the group efforts toward established priorities and quality of performance for the assigned tasks. You will develop, recommend, and justify budgets for the division, including detailed estimates for labor and project tasks. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams in the exploration and development of geothermal resources. You will provide oversight and review of the operations of the Coso geothermal field and power plant. You will advise Navy leadership on geothermal technologies.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including rotating shifts, overtime, nights, weekends, holidays and/or be "called back" to meet mission requirements if authorized by management.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing geothermal projects, 2) Managing financial resources, to include project budgets, government contracts and personnel labor. 3) Providing contract oversight, and 4) Exploring for geothermal resources NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume. Education

A. You have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or higher in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

OR

B. You have a combination of education and experience with education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
