NIST works with industry and science to advance innovation and improve quality of life. We're looking for a General Business Specialist to join our team! This announcement will close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on the date the first 100 applications are received or 11/15/2023, whichever comes first.

Duties

Serves as NIST Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Manager. Manages NIST-wide SBIR Program to solicit, identify, and evaluate proposals from small businesses. Serves as the Federal Program Officer for SBIR awards and works closely with Grants Management Division to announce funding opportunities and issue awards. Works with NIST's Safeguarding Science Research Security Review Team to ensure SBIR award recipients' compliance with federal due diligence program requirements through policies, and education and training. Assists with the solicitation and review process for internal technology maturation funding programs.

  • Merit applicants must meet time-in-grade/band requirements, as applicable
  • Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure, Form OGE-450
  • Bargaining Unit Position: No

Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 (ZA-III for NIST). Specialized experience is defined as working with the Small Business Innovation Research Program or related programs, experience managing grants programs or federal contracts; experience developing and writing organizational policies and procedures, and knowledge of the principles, and practices of an administrative/business professional field. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
