About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Cadet Command, 3rd Brigade JROTC located in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Duties
Responsible for the development and execution of JROTC training and recruiting programs.
Responsible for gathering, identifying and analyzing recruiting program issues ensuring that programs function effectively and effectively make recommendations to correct deficient program issues.
Participate in recruiting activities in pre-selected areas in an effort to increase public awareness of the ROTC program.
Provide sound advise on subject such as recruiting, retention, and incentives
management.
Requirements
- May be required to complete one year probationary period.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 50% of the time
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work that involves serving as the Lead Education and Training Technician for managing and monitoring all aspects of the Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps (JROTC) program with extensive knowledge of Public Law, Agency and organizational regulations and policies, support installation regulations and policies to establish and manage the JROTC/NDCC programs. Establish new JROTC/NDCC programs and assist with disestablishment of JROTC/NDCC programs; designing, coordinating, scheduling and implementing Unit programs. Assist organization with worldwide policies, regulations and procedures effecting all JROTC/NDCC programs that involves directing technical and administrative functions to facilitate the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the organizational instructions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
