Duties

As the Program Support Assistant, you will be under the supervision to the Most Efficient Organization (MEO) Program Manager in the Facilities Maintenance Branch at TRACEN Petaluma. The incumbent performs the full range of administrative and technician duties in support of facilities maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Background Investigation is required.

Qualifications

To Qualify for the GS-06 Grade Level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Performing office automation systems functions including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, database management tools, Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of web-based Finance and Procurement computer software. Ability to perform office support duties and clerical functions. Performing requisitioning and stock control procedures to check appropriate computer listings, items histories, procurement documents, shipping invoices, or other records or files. Knowledge of safety management regarding receiving, stacking, shipping, and disposing of hazardous materials.  National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
