This position is with the Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) and will operate within the service located at the VA Medical Center/Health Care System (VAMC/HCS) with several Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Grand Junction, CO.

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major Duties: Performs work involving consult management, appointment scheduling, and admissions scheduling. Collects, compiles, and tracks data and statistical information in support of Veteran Transportation Service (VTS). Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports. Evaluates documents, sampling plans, permit applications, and other data collection forms. Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system. Maintains automated system of program-specific data to track items such as service project milestones, progress reports, program trends, performance measures, and compliance strategies Interacts with other transportation services such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Volunteer Transportation Network (VTN), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Plans, organizes, administers, and directs how the work will be accomplished for the VTS program. Responds to notifications, ensuring the primary providers are correct. Provides advice to operating managers and supervisors on how provided services assist in accomplishing their missions and programs. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirement: The following are minimum requirements for appointment as a Transportation Assistant in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), which all applicants must met. Specialized Experience (GS-06): You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (i.e., GS-05). Qualifying examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: performing administrative duties in a medical/clinical office; maintaining documents and records; utilizing various software programs; and providing customer service to patients and medical staff.
