About the Position: This position is located at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with the Directorate of Missile and Aerospace Readiness (DMAR).

Duties

Maintain product inventory utilizing the Automated Logistics Control System (ALCS). Conduct data inquiries in the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) to identify root causes of inventory variances. Perform material handling duties for PATRIOT/HELLFIRE missile components in support of their storage location. Handle explosive/hazardous items, complying with safety and special handling standards. Transport materials by operating motor vehicles (up to a 5-ton capacity) and/or forklifts (up to 10,000 lb. capacity).

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
• Business travel/temporary duty (TDY) may be required up to 15% of the time.
• Mobility Agreement required to assigned areas world-wide to support the mission.
• This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968; persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible.
• Ammunition certification in accordance with AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
• Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives Screening in accordance with AR 190-11 required initially and annually.
• Pre-employment and annual physical examinations required.
• Position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
• Lifting requirement up to 50 lbs.
• Position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
• This is a temporary position scheduled to last one year and may be extended up to 5 years.

Qualifications

This position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment not to exceed 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as a temporary appointment not to exceed 1 year if candidate is NOT a current permanent Army employee. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
