Duties

This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Assistant Administrator - Headquarters Operations/Regulations and Rulings Division. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an Alcohol and Tobacco Regulations Specialist, you will: Facilitate review and issuance of public guidance. Serve as an advisor to top-level management such as the Assistant Administrator (Headquarters Operations), division directors, Field Operations managers, and Chief Counsel on all policy issues and technical matters within the program area. Perform complex, in-depth studies and recommends basic changes and/or focus of the regulatory programs and their management Act as the principal TTB spokesperson and point of contact regarding assigned regulatory program.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-14: You must meet the specialized experience requirements for this position, with at least one (1) full year of public or private sector experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent. This experience as provided below, should have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience includes: - Developing written policies regarding industries regulated by federal or state government; AND - Serving as an advisor or authority on the application of state or federal regulations to a regulated industry. For the GS-13: You must meet the specialized experience requirements for this position, with at least one (1) full year of public or private sector experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent. This experience as provided below, should have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience includes: - Leading projects, providing guidance and technical advice on matters involving a regulated industry.
