Duties
At the entry level of this position, you will:

Qualifications
We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-11 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-09 level defined as conducting site inspections under a national environmental law; OR participating in enforcement activities and recommending enforcement actions based upon inspection findings.- OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., in an academic discipline related to this position- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as experience conducting site inspections under a national environmental law; experience writing inspection reports that identify specific violations of any of these environmental laws.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of complex investigation, enforcement, and/or compliance principles, and legal procedures.
Skill in the use of investigative techniques.
Ability to conduct interviews and interrogations.
Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations pertaining to the Superfund Programs (CERCLA, CWA/OPA, and NCP).
Knowledge of methods and procedures to organize, evaluate, and interpret and analyze facts from potentially vast amounts of information related to complex environmental problems and enforcement actions.
Knowledge in coordinating numerous tracking, planning and policy and guidance development activities for a complex program.
Ability to analyze voluminous, complex, and often incomplete books and records to find evidence.
Skill in oral communication.
Ability to communicate in writing to develop concise reports, interview summaries and enforcement documents for civil cases.
