You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the JRC Pier Master, Supply and Logistics Department, Project Support Divsion of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will manage and coordinate the conveyance of all material on or about the associated pier or dry dock from the deck plate to the proper storage, rework, or disposal destination as the Job Readiness Coordination (JRC) Pier Master. You will ensure all material on or about the pier or dry dock is adequately and promptly tagged with a material control tag/radio frequency identification tag. You will plan, develop, and carry out vital material tracking and accountability, which are central to the material readiness an availability. You will make recommendations for changes in basic policy issuances and implementing instructions covering established supply techniques, practices, and methods based on personal analysis of very general policy directives and objectives. You will coordinate with project superintendents, Job Readiness Coordination (JRC) lead, project material managers (PMM), and a more senior JRC Pier Masters as required to resolve material rip-out and material escalation issues. You will orchestrate routing of rip-out and/or carcass material to the Material Envelope or Long-Term Storage. You will monitor and control project laydown areas on the deck plate. You will maintain accurate rip-out logbook or equivalent tracking system for both short term and long-term storage items. You will furnish technical advice and guidance to project personnel, JRC Material Handlers and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution personnel concerning distribution and storage operations and related operating requirements.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You may be required to lift/carry items weighing up to forty (40) pounds.

Qualifications

For GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating and implementing supply tracking and accountability to ensure material readiness and availability to support ship maintenance and repair projects. For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying and analyzing material availability for a supply program to support material readiness and proper distribution to ensure accurate and timely completion of ship overhaul projects. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR

For GS-11:
