Working independently and with little supervision, the incumbent provides supervision over EMS Interior Design move services, assembles furnishings, stages furnishings, which are conducive to healing, safety, infection control, and code compliance to the VA Black Hills Health Care System located in Fort Meade and Rapid City, South Dakota. Additionally, operates box truck, forklift, pallet jacks and other equipment in the performance of her/his duties.
Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Incumbent coordinates closely with Interior Designers and complete moves as required.
Incumbent is the coordinator for planned and unplanned furniture and other related moves from one location to another throughout STVHCS. The incumbent coordinates all incoming furniture deliveries and moves with the Facility Planning office.
The incumbent oversees the assembly, disassembly and in reassembly of various types
of furniture.
Coordinates storage of furniture, and equipment in designed areas arranged by the
Facility Planning office.
Incumbent may be required to operate large warehouse vehicles such as cargo trucks, stake trucks, and jumbo tugs. Operates forklifts and related vehicles in holding areas on unpaved, unimproved or difficult terrain. Uses pallet jacks, side loaders, dollies and other appropriate moving equipment to complete assigned jobs.
Incumbent must have a valid operator's license and have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate and preform daily duties with electric carts, forklifts and other manually operated moving equipment.
Incumbent will be required to use hand and electronic tools when require to completing assigned jobs.
Incumbent will ensure safety compliance is met, all machinery and equipment are to be cleaned, maintained and kept in working order.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Physical Requirements: Work requires continuous standing, walking, and stooping. Lifts, carries, and moves objects weight over 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Works inside and outside, occasionally in bad weather, exposed to hot and cold temperatures, difficult terrain, blowing dirt and dust, drafts, noise, grease and fumes. As required, use safety equipment and clothing such as coveralls, ear protectors, safety glasses and shoes, gloves and hardhats.
