THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HR ASSISTANT (MIL) - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD1190000 and is part of the 38th DIVARTY, National Guard. ***Current on-board applicants (AREA 1, Title 32 employees within the 38th DIVARTY only) will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted or reassigned, all others will be hired with indefinite tenure.***

Duties

As a HR ASSISTANT (MIL) - TITLE 32, GS-0203-6, you will assist in administering the military personnel program for the organization. Prepare for and participate in command level inspections of personnel and administration areas. Compile information, identify trends, and propose recommendations based on reports and/or findings. Review and provide recommendations for the assignment and utilization of military personnel in accordance with authorized manning documents. Accomplish or review military personnel transactions and forward actions to a higher-level military personnel office. Review and forward enlisted evaluation reports. Review enlisted promotion packets for quality and completion. Assist with the coordination of health services support. Review the status of physical examinations within the command and make recommendations for scheduling and completion. Review and forward reports of annual medical certifications. Assist in the preparation of unit standing operating procedures. Assist in the implementation of Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Major Command, National Guard, and state regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to personnel actions. Provide information to unit personnel about benefits and entitlements, career and bonus programs, educational, retirement, and other benefits. Assemble supporting documentation when processing actions such as involuntary order to active duty, courts martial, fraudulent enlistment, non-selection for retention, administrative discharges, etc. Perform various administrative duties relating to military personnel involving the composition and distribution of correspondence, publications, reports, orders, etc. May be required to assist in the recruiting and retention activities of the organization. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Administrative or clerical experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 9 months experience that provided knowledge of general office work which may include but is not limited to: answering telephones, receiving and distributing mail and maintaining records. Experience following oral or written instructions to accomplish work. Experience establishing and retrieving files and information. Experience using common computer software designed for word processing. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification.
