About the Position:
This position is located at Department Of Defense Education Activity, Americas Office Of the Director DSE Support Team.
This is a Term position, Not to Exceed 2 Years
This position is not covered by a bargaining unit.
Duties
Establish internal procedures to secure adequate control in terms of deadlines, progress reports, and flow of information.
Schedule/coordinate events, conferences, and other information services; coordinate/update global meeting calendar.
Maintain comprehensive databases to provide information used in making organization decisions.
Develop and revise standard operating procedures.
Prepare various briefings; prepare correspondence to high level military and congressional individuals.
Define administrative and functional responsibilities and reporting and make recommendations for new or revised policies/procedures.
Conduct interviews to gather information to formulate procedures/strategies.
Oversee programs that consist of a variety of functions to include policy letters, guidance memos, Congressional responses, incoming/outgoing correspondence, administrative SOPs and internal controls, tasking coordination, and files management.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
- Direct deposit of pay is required.
- One year trial or probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing administrative processes or procedures in order to formulate recommendations for improvement or efficiencies; maintaining records or files in accordance with established procedures; creating a variety of documents such as briefings, standard operating procedures, spreadsheets, etc; and responding to inquiries both verbally and in writing from senior level or high ranking personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
