You will serve as an Administrative/Technical Specialist in the Safety Branch; Infrastructure Division; Corporate Operations Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD. If selected, you will serve as a Safety Program Manager. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. NT-04 is equivalent to GS-11/12.

Duties

You will lead the electrical safety program to include the energy control program (lockout/tagout). You will inspect and test grounding for all explosive facilities, Lightning Protection Systems, and various grounding and firing systems at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSSWCDD). You will assist the Infrastructure Division with reviewing and providing input for Section 233 projects from an electrical safety perspective. You will lead, update, and administer training for all personnel involved with electrical safety. You will assist with Explosive Safety concerns in support of Facilities Infrastructure and Environmental Programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector implementing an electrical safety program for an organization by interpreting or applying the National Electric Code. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.

Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
