This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, POLICE SERVICES BRANCH WCF. As a Supervisory Police Officer (Sergeant), you will be assigned to this position to assist the Shift Commander in the independent direction and administration of all protective programs enforced by the Police Services Branch.
Duties
As a Supervisory Police Officer (Sergeant), you will:
Make daily assignments and maintain the duty roster by keeping detailed documentation of individual assignments, absenteeism's and unusual occurrences during his/her tour of duty.
Independently realign short term assignments for relief duty, attendance to firing range, training sessions and meetings.
Investigate the cause of activation of electronically controlled alarms; prepare detailed reports including recommendations for preventive and or corrective action in each instance.
Investigate infractions and irregularities reported by Police personnel as disclosed during their tour of duty and submit detailed and factual reports with minimal delay for affording equitable evaluation and appropriate disposition by higher authority.
Interpret, clarify, and instruct subordinates in too protective function relating to any situation encountered during a tour of duty.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 Years of Age.
AND
Specialized Experience:
For the TR-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the TR-8/GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Experience leading, supervising or performing law enforcement work in the preservation of the peace, AND
- Experience assisting with the arrest or apprehension of violators; AND
- Conducting investigations of crimes or emergency situation, including the protection of civil rights.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the TR-9, you must have been at the TR-8/GS-7level for 52 weeks.
