This position is located at US Mint,San Francisco Mint-MANUFACTURING DEPT/San Francisco. As a Die Finishing Specialist, you will set up, operate and maintain a number of automated machine tools to auto-polish dies in the production of proof coins.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the WG-10. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Work from oral and or written instructions in accordance with established procedures for several operations, machines, tools or equipment; routine or repetitive work is performed independently using knowledge of operations, machines, tools or equipment.
Responsible for visual, tactile and auditory examinations is required in accordance with specific technical requirements; and includes responsibility for determining corrections and tolerances.
Use initiative and resourcefulness and a thorough knowledge of state-of-the art systems in deviating from traditional methods to development methods criteria or proposed actions.
