About the Position: Serves as the Executive Assistant/Administrative Officer to the District Commander with general oversight of and coordination among the Executive Office and District administrative/clerical staff.

Duties
Maintain a close knowledge of the Commanders policies and assure compliance through correspondence, status reports and inspection reports as required.
As Protocol Officer you would manage and oversee the implementation of the Distinguished visitor program and coordinate and arrange the Districts changes of command ceremonies.
After research (and with minimal guidance) you would prepare correspondence to Federal, State and local public officials for the Commanders signature.
You would attend and arrange conferences, coordinate the activities of various visits, ceremonies and public events as needed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Supervisory probationary period required.

Specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level: One year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level that includes experience assisting with providing advice on policies and procedures, administrative and operational guidance, arranging meetings, preparing correspondence and assisting with the activities of various visits and ceremonies ensuring proper protocol is followed.
Specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level: One year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that includes experience providing advice on policies and procedures, administrative and operational guidance, arranging meetings, preparing correspondence and coordinating the activities of various visits and ceremonies ensuring proper protocol is followed.
GS-11: One year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level that includes experience assisting with providing advice on policies and procedures, administrative and operational guidance, arranging meetings, preparing correspondence and assisting with the activities of various visits and ceremonies ensuring proper protocol is followed.
GS-12: One year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that includes experience providing advice on policies and procedures, administrative and operational guidance, arranging meetings, preparing correspondence and coordinating the activities of various visits and ceremonies ensuring proper protocol is followed.
