About the Position: This position is located at Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, Texas.

Duties

Drive a 5 ton pickup or other gasoline, diesel, or electric powered non-tactical vehicle with gross vehicle weight of up to and including 7,000 pounds to transport medical supplies, articles, and lab samples. Perform or oversees the loading and unloading of cargo and passengers. Ensure the vehicle is not loaded beyond rated capacity. Clean inside and outside and refueling vehicle prior to departing and returning to Motor Pool. Observe speed limits in various areas and on highways. Complete trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 45 pounds is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must possess and maintain a valid stateside driver's license.
• This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

Vehicle operation requires close eye-hand coordination to operate control mechanisms. Light physical effort is used in moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside and is occasionally exposed to bad weather while loading and unloading the vehicle. Is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or when loading and unloading vehicles. Is exposed to the possibility of serious accidents while driving in all types of traffic and weather. Working conditions are considered in the evaluation of the job and do not meet criteria for compensation by environmental or hazard pay.
