This position is located in Supai Health Clinic, which provides ambulatory care for patients who require diagnostic, curative, preventive and rehabilitation services. The Nurse provides nursing care to patients and emergency situations as directed by medical staff.
Duties
Screens outpatient and emergency cases to determine nature and extent of health care required.
Provides nursing care to patients in clinics and on an emergency basis in accordance with nursing care plans and physician's orders.
Oversee the operation of laboratory services to include collection of lab specimen, running point of care tests; prepares specimen for shipment and analysis at outside contact laboratory.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life support (PALs) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified.

INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
NOTE: Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied.
Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-10: At least one (1) full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. Examples include: Managing the care of patients who present with a wide variety of conditions ranging from non-urgent to life-threatening or emergent. Experience in assessing the immediate needs of patients, prioritizing care needs, working in a collaborative interdisciplinary team to address identified care needs of critically ill patients. Experience coordinating and organizing the plan of care from admission through discharge.
GS-11: At least one (1) full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-10 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. Examples include: Professional nursing skills in applying a wide range of direct patient care services, performing charge nurse/team lead, orienting new employees, experience in providing data reports and quality assessments and performance improvement projects; OR
Education: Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
