This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Executive Director and reports to the Deputy Executive Director. Responsible for managing projects and assisting with coordinating daily office activities. The incumbent supports the office of the Deputy Executive Director by working closely with service line leaders and providing coordination of services based on specialized knowledge of assigned programs and practices in the assigned areas.
Travel may be required between campuses.
Duties
Program Analysis:
Responsibility includes utilize data and reporting tools to assist in the development of health planning strategies impacting VAPHS operations, the western market and/or VHACO program offices. Work with vendors and data teams (local, VISN, Human Resources, etc.) to develop reports, noting any discrepancies in compliance metrics. Develops and prepares graphic charts with narrative comments. Performs VAPHS data validation to ensure accuracy of data. Develops and implements ongoing monitors that reflect trends in assigned program areas. Presents findings to executive leadership and medical center managers for information and action. Reviews and reports on VAPHS policies in preparation for surveys, audits, and inspections in quality assurance, compliance, and procedures governed by internal and external organizations. Analyzes trends by service line/departments, which involves comparing and constructing current and historical data to discern trends. Disseminates results of analysis from various reports.
Program Management Support/Quality Improvement:
Participates in project teams in lead or support roles identifying and improving operational processes. Collects, organizes, and analyzes departmental data related to quality assurance and compliance with organizational policies. Assists with developing and implementing plans and procedures for coordinating service line/departmental compliance and prepares meaningful reports and identifies trends for senior Leadership, VAPHS oversight committees, and others as appropriate.
Operational Support/ Administrative Support:
Track and/or assign deliverables, answering the telephone(s) for the executive offices, creating Memorandums for executive leadership staff,
completing travel requests for executive leadership staff, responding to patient complaints, generating reports, taking minutes scheduling appointments, producing documents, and receiving visitors.
Serve as ADPAC, PIV official, timekeeper, and other roles for the Office of the Deputy Executive Director.
Other Duties as Assigned
Works on projects as assigned by the Deputy Executive Director or Executive Assistant.

Specialized Experience GS-11: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Qualifying specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: .Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the healthcare field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical or other service activities and provided knowledge of the following: (1) Mission, organizations, programs and requirements of health care delivery systems (2) Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and (3) Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel and procurement. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, working with vendors, utilizing data and reporting tools to assist in development of health planning strategies, develop reports, prepare graphic charts with narrative comments, perform data validation, develop and implement monitors reflecting trends in program areas, identify and improve operational processes, track deliverables, create memorandums, complete travel requests and serve as timekeeper.

I possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M. if related. The major study - hospital administration, public health administration or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.
