Are you a Quality Assurance Specialist looking to monitor a Quality Assessment/Improvement program in a hospital or clinical organization? If so, MMESD is looking for a QA Specialist (Materials Management) to analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system and review and recommend improvements to standard operating procedures for all QA activities to join their team. Duties
Implementing the criteria and goals of the Department's Quality Assurance Program.
Performing special studies which include analyzing data, developing formats to report the results of studies, and recommending alternative courses of action.
Ensuring that there are written procedures for validation to assure that the department's operations and procedures accomplish their intended purpose.
Developing guidance on techniques for management, improvement methods, manuals and other quality improvement directives.
Identifying opportunities for improvement through analysis of performance data, internal audit results, external reviews, incident reports, customer input, and other sources of information. Preparing formal reports of violations detected involving medical equipment, procedures, processes and misuse.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

- The work is primarily sedentary, however, the duties regularly require extended periods of walking, standing, or bending while examining materials and processes.
- In addition to work performed in an office setting, duties involve regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts which require special safety precautions, (i.e. infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, and low-level radiation).
- The use of protective clothing or gear such as laboratory coats, fumes hoods, safety goggles, radiation badges, aprons, gloves, and shields may be required.
- This position has been designated as a "Tier II non-emergency/teleworker" position.
Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Reviewing and ensuring compliance with established processes and procedures for the services performed by staff; conducting checks in shipping and receiving areas for compliance to standards and SOPs; identifying trends and weaknesses, and making recommendations for products and services changes; and identifying opportunities for improvement through analysis of performance data, internal audit results, external reviews, incident reports, customer input, and other sources of information.
OR
Completion of a PhD degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LLM degree, with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields if related to the position.

A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.
