Provide daily oversight of clinic staff and maintain communication with Supervisors and Leadership. Incumbent is responsible for the daily clinic flow and ensures staffing coverage. Coordinates and assists with outside facility events such as Health Fairs, Testing events, Immunization /Flu Clinics. Performs clinical service delivery tasks including staff and patient teaching.
Duties
Serves as the Tour Coordinator at the Kyle Health Center for all hours including evening, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Collaborates with Unit Supervisors, Chief Nurse Executive, medical staff and the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Manager to assure compliance with accrediting organizations standards e.g.,; The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), etc.
Sets overall objectives and expectations during non-administrative hours based upon seriously ill or injured patients and ability to interpret plan of care to patient and family members as well as mentor and coach experienced professional nursing staff.
Coordinates patient care and support activities to ensure smooth operation for admissions, discharges, and transfers (intra-and inter-facility); and call back for support departments, i.e. Laboratory, X-Ray, Operating Room, MVO transport drivers, and Medical Staff.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR)
EDUCATION: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs(external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education(external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools, is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
LICENSURE: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-11: One (1) specialized experience that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal services as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples Include: evaluate and modify patient services to improve or ensure quality patient care; serve as a primary liaison between referral of health care agencies and treatment facilities; independently plan and provide continuous professional nursing care, practices, medical protocols or guidelines for patients; and develop a tracking system for patient care services, treatment plans, and coordination of case management. Provide clinical coaching, mentoring, and department responsibility to nursing staff as defined in the above-mentioned areas.
OR
PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
