You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER in the ADMINISTRATIVE DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST DET.

Duties

You will support and directly liaison with senior management, managing all aspects of office leadership, and personnel management as Administrative Officer of Fleet Readiness Center Southwest Detachment, Point Mugu. You will provide advice, guidance, and monitor the operations and maintenance of correspondence, military evaluations, naval messages, awards, military/civilian travel orders, administrative budget, transfer and receipts, and instructions. You will assist the Legal Officer in processing legal matters and distribute work assignments/priorities to subordinates on difficulty of assignment, time constraints, and the capabilities of assigned military and civilian personnel. You will conduct special studies and analyzes practices, procedures and functions to pinpoint problems and identify trends. You will identify areas for improvement, and formulate feasible solutions/recommendations. You will apply analytical and evaluative skills in assessing work operations to create written reports regarding findings and recommendations with identifiable improved administrative processes presented to management. You will attend weekly meetings with senior management to include Officer in Charge (OIC), AOIC and Site Manager reporting progress of projects and anticipated problems, policy changes, impact on resources, and proposed solutions and accomplishments. You will maintain close liaison with FRCSW staff, Personnel Support Detachment (PSD), and other military entities for matters pertaining to military affairs. You will be responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and processing military enlisted evaluations and officer fitness reports. You will oversee duties and programs related to limited duty (LIMDU) coordinator, medical and dental readiness, and monitoring tuition assistance requests for proper enrollment and approval under the Navy College Program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing guidance and analytical support and creating reports of findings and recommendations to improve personnel programs and administrative processes for an organization.
