The Medical Supply Technician (CensiTrac Coordinator) for Veterans Health Administration (VHA) located in Fresno, California. The incumbent is responsible for the oversight of the SPS automated equipment tracking system in the Sterile Processing Services (SPS).
Duties
Medical Supply Technician (MST) CensiTrac Coordinator (CensiTrac Coordinator) for Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System.
Functions/Duties:
This is a full performance level position as a CensiTrac Coordinator responsible for the electronic tracking and data management system for critical and semi-critical reusable medical devices (RMD).
In this position, the incumbent's responsibilities include development, implementation, management, troubleshooting, problem-solving, monitoring, maintaining, data analysis, and reporting of semi-critical and critical RMD and coordinating, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting of RMD maintenance and repair.
Coordinates with SPS Management, Logistics, RMD Coordinator, SPS Quality Assurance (MST Coordinator), and end users for all critical and semi-critical RMD, including new purchased and leased critical and semi-critical RMD.
Competent and experienced in written, verbal, and nonverbal communication. Receives, schedules, refers, and initiates/closes contact at local, VISN, and national levels.
The incumbent will develop correspondence and reports to RMD Committee, SPS, and other entities as assigned.
Knowledge of sterile processing procedures, critical and semi-critical RMD, surgical procedures, sterility, and aseptic technique is needed to perform these duties.
Typing, computer skills, and facility software knowledge is required to perform these duties as is the ability to quickly assimilate new technical software (CensiTrac) and hardware (scanners) expertise.
The incumbent may be assigned to work as needed during other than normal business hours such as evenings and weekends in order to meet valid operational needs. Such scheduling for other than normal business hours will be assigned as needed by the Chief, Sterile Processing Services (SPS).
The incumbent must complete competencies, VA training and coursework, and VA SPS certification as required for a Medical Supply Technician - Sterile Processing Service in the VA Central California Health Care System.
The incumbent must maintain certification by completing approved annual continuing education units (CEUs) and annual inservice hours.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:30PM, subject to change based on the needs of the agency.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Education. Four academic years above high school leading to a Bachelor's degree with at least 12 semester hours in courses related to the occupation or a Bachelor's degree.
Grade Determinations: One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-7).
GS-08 Lead Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing)
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate the following KSAs:
1. Ability to read and interpret written procedures and select appropriate action in order to instruct staff in correct procedures and protocols for completing assignments.
2. Ability to communicate orally and in writing to ensure staff compliance with written directives, rules and regulations.
3. Skill in interpersonal relationships in dealing with employees, team leaders, and managers.
4. Knowledge of sterility principles in order to instruct staff on decontamination procedures.
5. Ability to lead individuals, manage priorities, and schedule work assignments.
Preferred Experience: Sterile Processing experience at least 3 years. Experience with endoscope reprocessing for 2 years minimum. Experience working with CensiTrac. Ability to assess for the application of best practice. Attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, testing experience, and survey experience. Must have a good reputation with an unwavering commitment to meticulous production. Demonstrates self-confidence.
