About the Position: Serve as the Deputy for Programs and Project Management and Chief of the Programs and Project Management Division. Incumbent is delegated full authority for management decisions related to major District Civil, Environmental, and Support for Other programs and projects. Duties

You will serve as the civilian deputy and senior civilian of the San Francisco District responsible for overseeing and directing Programs and Project Management Division activities. Provide leadership in establishing and maintaining effective management processes and a work environment conducive to effective integration of technical functions with programs and project management. Directs the formulation of the District's ten-year civil works program and annual program budget. Supervise a staff of program and project managers, administrative and support team members. Develop coordinated positions with sponsors and customers and makes programming decisions that affect long range courses of action of critical importance. Participate with functional organizations in development of the PSP/PMP. Direct the allocation of project resources in accordance with PSP/PMP's to assure objectives and commitments are effectively met.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • This position may require an uncommon tour of duty (e.g., evenings, weekends) in connection with stated duties or during emergency operations.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
