Salary: $29 - 34 per hour

Duties

You will apply a variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to lay out, install, align, repair, overhaul, and maintain various type of nonproduction industrial plant machinery, equipment, and systems You will open, adjust, troubleshoot, repair, and install a wide variety of locking devices. You will determine precise locations and angles for drilling without harming the contents or causing irrevocable damage to the locking mechanisms or containers. You will disassemble and repair general industrial plant machinery, equipment, and systems such as pumps, air handlers, motors, pump alignments, fans, bearings, valves, and air compressors.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to do the job of a Industrial Equipment Mechanic WG-5352-10 without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by performing the following: 1) Troubleshooting industrial plant machinery to determine the nature and extent of repairs necessary; 2) Making needed repairs by replacing, reworking or refinishing worn or damage parts and components; 3) Disassembling and repairing general industrial plant machinery, equipment and systems such as cranes, air compressors, overhead door systems, pneumatic tube systems, pumps, and sliding wall systems; and 4) Interpreting and applying technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints, and other documents. Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations (X-118C).
