The position is established to serve as the Head Sailing Coach for the Inter-collegiate Dinghy Sailing Team, a varsity sport. The employee has complete responsibility for all planning, management, and coaching for such endeavors. Areas of responsibility include coaching the Dinghy Sailing Team, management of assistant coaches, recruiting, public relations, basic to advanced sailing and seamanship instruction, training and certification of instructors, and facility management.

Qualifications
To be qualified for this position, you must meet the education requirements and have experience teaching college level classes in the required field of study.
To qualify for a Sports Specialist (Dinghy Sailing) you must possess at least 1 sports season of full time experience coaching dinghy sailing or team racing,
Experience coaching dinghy sailing or team racing
Experience competing in inter-collegiate sailboat racing as helmsman or crew.
Experience in sailboat racing rules, sailboat and sail handling techniques applicable to racing

Education
Education Requirement for a Sports Specialist: Bachelor’s Degree or higher
Highly Desirable:
- Four years competing in intercollegiate sailing with All-America or All-Conference Awards.
- Minimum of six years coaching youth, high school and/or collegiate sailors.
- US Sailing Small Boat Instructor Level 3 or higher (or equivalent).
