This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, PACAREA, PAC 3 & 3SF, Alameda, CA.
Duties
You will serve as a Document and Media Exploitation (DOMEX) analyst providing specialized analysis and forensic assessment support to evaluate documents and media items pertaining to the eleven congressionally mandated Coast Guard missions.
Requirements
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- You will be required to undergo pre-employment drug testing.
- Must have valid U.S. passport with no less than six-months remaining.
- This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
Qualifications
Qualifications for GS-13: At least one year of specialized work experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level is required. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples include:
Experience supporting the forensic and biometric community to include working for law enforcement agencies, or other similar federal/state/local organizations;
Conveying technical information to a wide range of audiences; performing online research related to foreign internet, websites, media, and social media sites;
Providing planning, development and application of policies and procedures.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
