You will serve as an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in Aviation Operations in NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Duties

You will perform technical analysis on complex problems, communicate needs to the program office, and prepare oral and written presentations to clearly present specific problems and specific recommendations for solutions. You will prepare lessons guides, provide technical training and interpret policy for a team. You will review Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) documentation for completeness, accuracy, and suitability to the equipment. You will use innovation and creative thinking to devise new ways of accomplishing objectives and adapting current techniques. You will maintain files, reviews team Equipment Specialists' decisions for competency and logic, and evaluates adequacy of technical information on file.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Life Cycle Logistics Level 2. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of engineering changes, design change notice (DCN) and source, maintenance and recoverability (SM&R) code processing, configuration management and control to support maintenance planning, and technical file maintenance; 2) Performing technical analysis on complex problems, communicating IWST needs to the program office, and preparing oral and written presentations to clearly present specific problems, and provide specific recommendations for resolution; 3) Certifying procurements, processing Justifications and Approvals (J&As), completing purchase request checklists and ITIMP referrals; 4) Preparing lessons guides, providing technical training and interpreting policy for team.
