You will serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist in the Research & Development Group, Weagons & Energetics Dept of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will perform duties as a Facilities Operations Specialist within the Explosive Operations Support Branch. You will provide ongoing, day-to-day facilities liaison support between Salt Wells / CLPL customers, Public Works Department, IBO and ESOB. You will support a wide range of operational requirements that include repairs, maintenance, building access for facility repairs and other necessary facility support elements. You will inspect/validate incoming emergency and routine work requests by verifying issue on site, visits job sites while work is in progress and upon completion, update status within the GTS system.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower pay band DA-01 (GS-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) General knowledge of facility operations and maintenance; 2) Ability to develop work plans and schedules for the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and facilities; 3) Ability to analyze facility reports in order to provide recommendations for process improvement; 4) Demonstrating knowledge of jobsite occupational safety.
