Duties

ZS-III: Provides administrative and/or clerical support to two or more HR functions or programs (e.g., retirement, employee benefits, employee relations, labor relations, awards, reasonable accommodation, anti-harassment, employee assistance, workers compensation, drug testing, work-life wellness). Responds to written and verbal customers inquiries. Researches, interprets, and applies Federal human resource laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines. Uses HR systems, processes, applications to identify/extract information, develop, prepare, and submit reports, documents, and other work deliverables. Schedules or coordinates meetings, training, events, tests; reviews/edits documents and forms for compliance and/or delivery to customers; manages program listservs and other communications (i.e., surveys). Provides administrative office support, including ordering/maintaining supplies, scanning, faxing, mail distribution, etc. ZS-IV: Provides administrative and/or technical support to two or more HR functions or programs (e.g., retirement, employee benefits, employee relations, labor relations, awards, reasonable accommodation, anti-harassment, employee assistance, workers compensation, drug testing, work-life wellness). Responds to a wide range of written and verbal customers inquiries. Researches, interprets, and applies Federal human resource laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines. Uses various HR systems, processes, applications to identify/extract information, develop, prepare, and submit reports, documents, and other work deliverables. Schedules or coordinates meetings, training, events, tests; reviews/edits documents and forms for compliance and/or delivery to customers; manages program listservs and other communications (i.e., surveys). Provides administrative office support, including ordering/maintaining supplies, scanning, faxing, mail distribution, etc.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service

  • Merit applicants must meet time-in-grade/band requirements, as applicable
  • Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute

Qualifications

ZS-III: To qualify, applicants must one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level (ZS-II at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative and/or clerical assistance to include one or more of the following: 1) reviewing and/or modifying documents and/or reports; 2) responding to customer inquiries; 3) supporting program activities, e.g., meetings, events, training; 4) using various computer software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of deliverables. OR 4 years above high school ZS-IV: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level (or ZS-III at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative assistance in program and/or operational activities to include three or more of the following: 1) reviewing and/or modifying documents and/or reports for accuracy and completeness, and reconciling errors; 2) responding to customer inquiries; 3) supporting program activities, e.g., meetings, events, training; 4) using various computer software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of deliverables; 5) utilizing automated systems to enter, retrieve, report and manage data. In addition to the above minimum qualification requirements, applicants must be able to type 40 wpm. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application. Education
