THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D2240P01 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13, you will serve as section supervisor, exercising supervisory responsibility over assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations. Supervise employees involved in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multi-complex avionics systems. Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities and materials. Establish deadlines and priorities and work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. Determine the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits. Coordinate work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Informs higher level supervisors of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Participate with superiors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"

Requirements

  • KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-6 through E-7 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A974 **Must be willing and able to cross train into compatible AFSC. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate possesses the ability to perform on-or-off equipment maintenance on one or more electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. The ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience or training demonstrating the ability to repair, overhaul, rebuild, align, and adjust complete multi-systems such as the electronics package in a highly automated aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft attitude control, navigation, and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems which are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops? Applies comprehensive knowledge of all major units of the complete multisystem, i.e., how they function independently, how they are interfaced in the integrated subsystems, and how the subsystems interact to achieve operating specifications. Able to determine proper sequence of operations and start point in sequential operations in order to pinpoint areas of malfunction. In addition to the craftsman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

Education

The mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Craftsman Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least two military professional education course program
