The ideal candidate for this position will be a subject matter expert in environmental and historic preservation (EHP) topics with extensive experience managing environmental compliance programs, advising senior leaders on EHP matters, and leading a large team of experts.

Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.   To qualify for this position at the GS-15 level (starting salary $148,507), you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Leading an interdisciplinary team in applying solutions for addressing adverse environmental or historic preservation impacts for complex projects, and Reviewing subordinate’s decision documents for actions related to environmental or historic preservation compliance with regulations and orders (e.g. National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Historic Preservation Act, Endangered Species Act, Environmental Justice, etc.), and  Managing or directing complex consultations with environmental or historic preservation compliance requirements.
