You will serve as a Shipfitter Supervisor II in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will plan work assignments on an immediate and long range basis in accordance with schedules of priorities which are established by higher level management. You will determine manpower, tooling, material availability, machine capabilities, and the methods to be used. You will analyze work schedules, assignments, production costs, methods of operations and assigning work to subordinate supervisors in order to maintain a balanced workload, meet deadlines, increase efficiency and reduce cost. You will assure that subordinate supervisors effectively carry out policies in labor management and equal employment opportunity. You will participate with higher level management in discussions on workload, budget, acquisition of plant and minor property, training and other management related areas.

Requirements

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require rotating shift work.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously when in an industrial work area.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
