You will serve as a Paralegal Specialist in the Office of Counsel (Code 130) of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.
Duties
You will perform legal research, draft legal memorandum, and prepare legal documents and correspondence on a myriad of legal questions pertaining to all aspects of civilian employment.
You will produce legal work products prepared in all personnel law subject areas, including, but not limited to, equal employment opportunity, labor-management relations, adverse actions, pay policies and benefits, and hours of work.
You will conduct legal research and develop agency case files to rebut allegations of agency discrimination in EEO cases.
You will select, summarizes and compiles comparative data to examine and evaluate alleged agency discriminatory behavior.
You will assist agency managers by drafting correspondence responding to union or employee grievances and unfair labor practice charges and appear in court or at third party proceedings to assist attorneys as an agency technical representative.
You will determine the release ability of agency records and official information and prepare correspondence responding to FOIA and PA requests.
You will prepare convening letters for command-directed investigations and Judge Advocate General (JAG) manual appointment letters, citing appropriate JAG Manual sections for the Commanding Officer's signature.
You will serve as Office Manager for the Office of Counsel.
You will assist Counsel in the management of the Ethics Program by conducting orientation and exit briefings, conducting ethics training, and reviewing financial disclosure statements for possible conflicts of interest.
You will answer routine ethics questions within the Command.
You will serve as the Records Liaison for the Office of Counsel and be responsible for maintaining office records in accordance with Department of Defense and Department of the Navy Records Management requirements.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing legal research, analysis or preparation of legal or patent documents in support of attorneys.
