About the Position: This position is located at the Aviation and Missile Center located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Renewable Term Employees are eligible to apply for this position in accordance with P.L. 115-232 Section 1112.

Duties

Provide technical leadership in Defense Acquisition, systems integration. Manage/develop a team of multidiscipline engineers to achieve program goals effectively/efficiently. Prepare briefing materials accurately depicting program technical status and issues for delivery to a wide range of audiences to include management, partners, and stakeholders such as General Officers and Senior Executive Service members. Oversee contractor technical performance and/or design reviews. Lead efforts to obtain airworthiness certifications.

ORB. Combination of Education and Experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:1. Professional registration or licensure - Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the specialized experience requirement listed below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level performing the following: (1) Provide technical and programmatic leadership for Army Rotorcraft systems or sub-systems; (2) Monitor, manage, and report program technical status; (3) Interface and collaborate with contractors, military personnel, and OGAs, to provide technical presentations, and manage associated technical cost, schedule, and performance. (4) Coordinate or actively participate in Army fixed wing integration and qualification (5) Perform technical evaluation of contractor proposals.
