You will serve as a SOCIAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE in the FAMILY READINESS DIVISION of US NAVAL BASE GUAM.

Duties

You will identify families that are experiencing problems and stressors associated with military life and may be considered at risk for child abuse and neglect and domestic abuse. You will provide in-office intervention services for eligible participants who due to mission readiness priorities or other confirmed situational issues are unable to participate in home visitation services. You will provide evidenced based intervention strategies to enhance family resiliency, foster healthy parenting practices and skills, promote positive parent-child interactions and overall healthy family functioning You will function as Case Manager for clients of the New Parent Support Program to assist clients in meeting : physical, mental, and educational individual/family needs in relation to pregnancy, early childhood development, and personal life skills You will coordinate and facilitate annual Child Abuse Prevention awareness activities and campaigns. You will assess the developmental status of children in participant families and refer them to appropriate agencies and community resources. You will maintain electronic case records, and perform quality assurance in accordance with established policy and standards.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting screenings and assessments to determine support services for families; providing parenting education; maintaining case records; AND providing updates to treatment plans.
