This position is located in National Operations Center (NOC), Division of Business Services, Branch of National Property and Support Programs, National Programs Support Section, Lakewood Colorado. Information about Lakewood and the surrounding area can be found at City of Lakewood, Colorado.
Duties
Provides guidance and technical advice on warehousing and inventory control.
Serves as a Government Purchase Card Holder, responsible for incoming shipping invoices.
Coordinates ordering histories and practices with offices to determine required stock levels and order amounts.
Monitors and controls distribution of all excess property.
Processes all initial receipts of personal property into an automated financial system.
Coordinates with other offices for annual inventory requirements.
Receives property from field offices in support of IT Transformation.
Performs and documents ongoing safety standards as required.
Performs receiving and shipping operations.
Performs Vehicle (Forklift) Operations.

- Must be able to operate various type of warehousing equipment, to include forklifts and transport vehicles for which a driver's license and BLM certification is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and certifications.
Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: using a purchase card to purchase supplies or other items; receiving and payment of invoices, operating a forklift or other machinery; performing warehouse shipping and receiving operations; using automated Microsoft products such as Excel or Outlook.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The office work is mostly sedentary; however, there are some physical demands such as walking, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying. Warehouse work requires the physical lifting of up to 40 pounds. Must be able to successfully pass drug and physical exams and maintain these requirements. Warehouse work is generally performed on concrete or hard surface floors. Deadlines and work pressures exist in which the employee may be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time.

Work Environment: The work is performed within an office and in a warehouse setting. Extreme caution and safety are required because of the movement of objects with the use of automated industrial machinery and equipment. Work in the office setting is usually adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Warehousing is usually done in areas that can be hot, cold, dry, wet, drafty, and poorly lighted. There may be exposure to dirty, dusty, and greasy conditions and to cuts, scrapes, bruises, and safety hazards inherent to a warehouse environment.
