This position is the Senior DeCA Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) manager in the Defense Commissary Agency (DECA) serving as the Chief, Office of Equal Opportunity. Is responsible for the development, recommendation and promulgation of policy for the Agency Programs. Provides policy guidance and Interpretation to the staff of and managers throughout the Headquarters and in all subordinate levels.
Duties
As the principal advisor to the Deputy Director, assists in the planning and managing of the Agency's Equal Employment Opportunities Program providing positive equal employment opportunity consulting services to managers at every level.
Provide policy guidance and interpretation to the staff of and managers throughout the Headquarters and in all subordinate levels.
Provides guidance and assistance to host installations' servicing EEO and Civilian Human Resources Staffs.
Reviews recommendations for Agency-level decisions on EEO complaints prior to their being forwarded, in full and final form, to the DeCA Command Group for approval and signature.
Works in conjunction with legal counsel when necessary and applies practical knowledge of national trends in the general field of EEO.

Requirements

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 0260 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level by the closing date of this announcement. Experience can be under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Provide daily program direction and guidance in the areas of EEO Counseling, complaint resolution, and complaint processing.
Provide technical advice to senior leadership concerning the resolution of equal employment opportunity complaints.
Manages the development of policy changes in response to changes in levels of appropriations or other legislated changes.
